Prayer Requests and Updates

Dear Brothers and Sisters, When the cheering crowds had subsided on Palm Sunday, and the temple had been cleansed the next day, it was the little children who still cried out in that place, “Hosanna to the Son of David” (Matthew 21:15). The crowds have now gone from Faro de Santidad, and I believe the Lord is cleansing his temple on the border. Last week, with a mission team of 10 people from Oregon and Texas, we were able to preach the gospel to close to 1,000 people at secular jails/rehabs, a plaza where people gather - including drug addicts, drunks, and prostitutes - and what is known as the pesera in Matamoros – the public buses. The mission team has now departed and the crowds have gone, but the children still sing his praises. Here are the testimonies of two of them, and few other updates and requests: · 1. Luis is 16 but is still a little child as he is a new believer. Last Saturday night, he gave his testimony at a crowded rehab and desired to declare it again Sunday. He spoke of how the Lord had convicted him of spending too much time on his phone. When he was scrolling, he saw this verse: “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” (Galatians 2:20) Now Luis desires to serve the Lord as a lighthouse and has begun training for ministry. Basically, he was declaring “the praises of the one who brought him out of the darkness into his marvelous light” (I Peter 2:9). 2. Rita is a 12-year-old girl who lives in an abandoned home. For this reason, her family is despised by her neighbors, and her mother has been considered a little bit “loco.” Yet she spends her time memorizing verses, even entire chapters from the Bible. On Sunday she stood up to give her testimony of how she had talked with a friend about Jesus, once again declaring His praises. Evangelism is worship. Now she too wants to serve the living God as His lighthouse. Please pray for all the children at the mission. ·3. Cruz has finally got rid of his idol of Santa Muerte (St. Death) and believes that he has been forgiven for his sin. Praise the Lord! His body remains in critical condition, but his soul is safely in the hands of our Lord. 4. Over the past two months, Lighthouse has hosted two mission trips. Please pray that Lord will give us wisdom and strength as we seek to follow up the work. Thank you to all of those who were willing to cross the border! ·5. Last Sunday, Isaías attended the mission two months after he left the jail/rehab. He has been staying sober and seeking work but responded to a message to “seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness” and trust him with our daily needs (Matthew 6:33). After we prayed for him at the altar, he was offered a job as a security guard by a member of the congregation. Praise the Lord! 6. Please pray for Andreas. He is a crack addict. Last week, Andreas approached me and told me he had never read the Bible before and has been suffering from nightmares. He was happy to receive a Bible and told me that he would read it. ·7. Lighthouse is now working closely with Clamor en el Barrio (“Outcry in the Neighborhood or Hood”) a small Christian rehab. Their director and pastor, Oscar, has proven to be a soul winner. Last week we took them leftover food from the mission team and two boxes of Bibles. They were happy to receive the food but were overjoyed with the Bibles. Please pray for wisdom as we move ahead with them. ·8. The Lord is raising up workers for the harvest. There are now five who are training to be Lighthouses of Holiness.
